Many of our new recruits haven’t sung since they were at school and don’t read music. Don’t worry, our new Musical Director Emily Hinchliff has been teaching for many years and will adopt the teaching method introduced by our previous MD as demonstrated below:

You will see that very soon you will enjoy the magical pleasure of singing in harmony with a big choir (currently 55 members).
On joining the choir you will be allocated to a section where you will be mentored and supported by other experienced choristers.
If you click on the “Audio and Video” tab you will see we achieve a high standard of performance and are in demand for concerts which raise tens of thousands of pounds for local charities. Needless to say when a bunch of 50 plus men get together it’s not all serious work and we have lots of fun as well. We have an active Social programme where we are joined by wives and girlfriends to complete the choir family.
Rehearsals Wednesdays at The Cross Barn, Palace Gate Farm, Odiham, RG29 1JX from 7:30pm until around 09:45pm.
To meet the choir and book yourself on a “taster session”, please contact the Choir Secretary, Simon Cole, by telephone or use the email form below.
There is a growing evidence base which highlights the health benefits of singing in a group. This can be particularly effective for improving mental health and wellbeing and combatting loneliness and isolation. Singing can also support lung health and be used to help the management of symptoms for conditions such as dementia and Parkinson’s.
Hart Male Voice Choir was formed in 1975 and for over forty years has provided a platform for men to Sing for Health enjoying the pleasure of singing together and benefitting from the mental health and wellbeing support and camaraderie provided by singing in a group.
The choir sings, in four-part harmony, a range of songs including traditional male voice choir arrangements, songs from the shows, operatic pieces, folk songs, classic hymns and arrangements of popular music.
Over the years the choir has enjoyed a number of cultural exchange trips throughout the UK and abroad and has raised many thousands of pounds for local and national charities.
