HART MALE VOICE CHOIR

           Sparkling Winter Concert St Peter & St Paul’s Church Godalming Saturday 20th November 2021

It is great to be back!  After a long lock-down wait Hart Male Voice Choir are excited to be singing again in Godalming. The choir has been invited by the Friends of the church to sing at St Peter & St Paul’s Church, in Godalming ( over- looking the Bandstand ). The splendid acoustics of the church will provide a perfect setting for the soaring anthems, choral delights, music from the shows and rousing traditional songs to be performed by this popular local choir. Music Director Kevin Jacot is pleased to be working with the choir again for this winter. The programme of songs has been selected to bring out the best performances with the choir’s renowned four part harmonies. In this charming 12th Century Church with its wide open interior space the audience can expect a safe and  exhilarating musical experience.

A special feature at the concert will be the presentation to senior Tenor Norman Bartlett of a WW2 Veteran’s portrait. Norman is one of the longest serving members of the choir having sung for more than 30 years in the front row of the choir. The original presentation was planned for December 2020 on Norman’s Wedding Anniversary. However COVID restrictions scuppered those plans and only a very modest presentation ceremony was possible at North Hants Golf Club.

Now that COVID restrictions are relaxed and our choir schedule is beginning to grow, an ‘ official ‘  full choir presentation of Norman’s Royal Navy veteran’s portrait will take place during the Godalming Concert in 20th November.

The presentation ceremony will conclude with a rousing performance by Kevin Jacot on the church organ of the Royal Navy Anthem ‘Heart of Oak’. 

To meet social distancing guidelines the audience will be limited to 250 and entrance to the concert will be by pre-paid ticket only.
